CAPABILITIES
Mine Site Toes & Crests
Satellite surveying of mine site toes and crests improves mine safety
GPS surveying of mine site toes and crests exposes the ground survey team to the risks of falling debris, bench wall slumping, and large mining trucks. To improve mine safety, many mine operators are using remote methods of mapping mine site toes and crests whenever practical.
Surveying accuracy
PhotoSat’s unique technology automatically maps toes and crests from our satellite survey grid to an approximate accuracy of 50cm horizontal and 20cm in elevation.
Many existing customers
We regularly provide high accuracy toes and crests data to the operations engineers at several of the Alberta oil sands mines and open pit mines worldwide. Our clients find that using satellite surveying to map toes and crests shortens project timelines and reduces costs by eliminating ground survey delays.
PhotoSat’s toes and crests mapping features:
- Using satellites reduces the risk for ground surveyors since they no longer need access to hazardous areas of the mine site
- Reliable and consistent elevation accuracies for mining engineering projects
- Produced in conjunction with our engineering quality topographic survey data
Engineering quality satellite survey
PhotoSat produces the most accurate elevation data from satellite photos with accuracies better than 20cm in elevation. We have delivered over 1000 projects globally.
Mine site toes and crests mapping is provided in conjuction with our satellite surveying package. The data package includes an engineering quality 1m elevation grid, 50cm or 1m contours, and a 50cm satellite ortho photo.
